I met CC only once, on the way to a Men of Radio Retreat in Idaho. It took about 3 seconds for him to make me feel important, & over the next 4 days his infectious wit & Joy spread to all who were there. He has left an indelible mark on a world desperately in need of hope in Jesus.

I moved to Houston in 2020 when my Son and daughter in law were having twins. It was a big move for us. Covid created complications with the mom and baby and things were touch and go but the twins and mom pulled through because of the power of God and Prayers. I’m an old hip hop and was searching for Christian positive rap when I found NGEN radio here in Houston. Chris was the afternoon DJ for a time and he really turned me onto CHH. I always loved listening to him and his uplifting message. He is going to be truly missed and this is coming from someone who never met him in person. I’ll be praying for Gods Love and Comfort to surround his family and many friends. We know he’s with our Lord and Savior and that’s what matters most. One Love and God Bless!

I’ve been a fan of Chris for a long time. I’d always listen to his show on Rapzilla everyday on my way to work. His energy, humor and joy was fun to listen to. My favorite interview he ever did was with Shawn Michaels. It was a transparent interview and I learned more about both men.
I finally met him at the kingdom choice awards last year. He was great and showed love. He thought I was an artist! (I usually dress like one). I didn’t think that would be the first and last time I meet him. I was looking forward to building with him.
Thank you Chris Chicago. You impacted me through your love and support for others and your love for Jesus. Godspeed.

I started listening to Chris back in the Jam the Hype days. He kept me company on deployments when life felt lonely. He was always so positive and had a love for the Lord that we should all strive for. I look forward to seeing him one day and praising the Lord together. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this amazing man. You are all in my prayers.

I met Chris In the Mid 1990s working at KLYT radio! No one made you feel as important as chris did. He put his heart and soul into everything he did! You could always count on Chris to put a smile on your face or make you laugh!
I had the pleasure of knowing him when he first met his wife, Jessica. I was able to see his love for her grow over the years. Even went on several dates with them because Jessica‘s parents would not allow her to go out with him alone because of their age difference, it was an honor to spend that time with both of them so many memories I will never forget! Thanks so much for the memories and the laughs. You will be deeply missed! Look forward to seeing you again.

Chris was such a wonderful man. He stood up for me when no one else would at a time I needed it. We shared a love for wrestling often discussing our favorites through out the years. Chris introduced me to oysters for the first time and made me a fan. He was champion for Christian Hip Hop, CCM, and by far the best promoter I had the privilege of working with. First and foremost Chris adored his family and was a true warrior for God. It hurts to know Chris has moved on but I know he’s not in pain anymore and reaping his reward in heaven. Love you Chris and I will you see down the road, my friend.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris, but he was one of my favorite dj’s on NGEN when I lived in Texas. I was so excited to hear his familiar voice again after so many years while listening on the app and in another state. I was shocked and sad when I opened FB and saw the news, sad for his family, as well. On the flip side, I am happy to know he is no longer suffering the ills of this life. He’s chillin with Jesus! Amen!

Chris was always involved with my music as you can see in this music video. He was all about “the hang” and having fun. He worked hard and played hard. Sometimes I feel like we had too much fun. But I’m glad I have these memories of him that will live on. I love his Hulk flex which was ALL improvised on the spot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUohLEJ-hjI

I never meet CC but I consider him one of my closest friends, I use to have anxiety and depression for almost 10 years, I was listening to soflow radio and started to dance and worship God, I felt the anxiety and depression melt away from me, God spoke to me and told me to tell him that he was having doubts about his show and he wanted to cancel it and I told him it was making a difference in people’s lives, people like me, I thought I would always have this depression but if it wasn’t for Chris and the way God used him I wouldn’t be standing in my freedom, free from depression, thank you Chris for letting God use you in a mighty way, I will never forget you and the impact you had in my life,

It feels like Chris knew me before I knew Chris. Yet Chris was the one to know. I was a nobody just starting out nearly 30 yrs ago when Christian Hip Hop was young. I was the first Chinese American Christian rapper and Chris believed in me when everyone else said that this was not was Chinese people do. Through the years he would catch up with me during events and I went to him for advise. He never big timed me. When I did my song for the first Chinese NFL player called, “Crush ’em Like Godzilla”, he knew it how ground breaking that was for our community when most people never even thought about it. Chris interviewed me about how meaningful it was for me to see someone that looked like me in a space that has never been seen before. He knew I always felt that way in the music scene. He was DEI before it became woke and before it became a bad word because he cared about those that were not seen and had a unique voice. I will miss Chris’ big hugs that would suffocate me. I hope he will fill in my dad in heaven about the history of CHH and my small place in it.

I was saddened to hear when he was diagnosed but motivated watching him(through social media) fight and continue to be him through it all.
His voice is one that will be sorely missed. May he be gods best dj.

From 2010 – 2012, arguably, Chris and I were inseparable. We met in June 2010 and immediately hit it off. Immediately became business partners and best friends. As our lives begun to run separate ways, we still found time to stay connected up until the very end. When I was going through one of the hardest points of my life, he was fighting for his. Yet he took time to ask me detail questions about what’s going on and ways he could pray for me. Last year, we got one more chance to see each other when we both happened to be in Florida at the same time. Once again, I was riding his charisma as we circled the halls high-fiving people and giving them hugs. He was the epitome of loving others. He’s going to be incredibly missed. Can’t wait to see him again one day when we’re reunited in Heaven.

Your passion for reaching others through music touched me in ways you may never have known. From our work together to those family moments at Disney, every memory with you is a treasure. I hope to carry on a piece of your legacy, sharing the love and light you gave so freely. Thank you for everything, my friend. You will be deeply missed, but always remembered.
