Learn About Chris

With hearts full of love and sadness, we share that the Christian Music Industry lost our good friend, Chris Chicago. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 22nd. After a brave and long battle with cancer, Chris passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Chris was the primary breadwinner of the family, and we are looking to his friends to come together with us to carry out the words of James 1:27 – the religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress. We want to help his wife and kids during this transition.

Those of us who knew Chris knew that he was the definition of warmth—a big bear hug in human form, with a heart just as huge. His presence lit up every room, and even during tough times, he never stopped caring about his friends, often putting them along with his family first.

In addition to his time on the air with WayFM, NGEN Radio, and other stations, Chris was a true visionary and entrepreneur. He helped shape the Christian Hip Hop scene as an artist manager, and also with SoFlow Radio and Rapzilla, among other endeavors.

Chris was our “Homie,” and that’s what he called everyone. He will be missed deeply, and we’ll miss hearing his “what a do, what a do, what a do!” However, we take comfort knowing his fight is over, and he is now at peace, at home in heaven. Please help us support his wife, Jessica, and his kids Aiden (16), Callie (12) , Finn (9) and Lochlan (5). Thanks!

Dear Friends and Family,

We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of our beloved Chris. For those who wish to reflect Chris’s love for Disney, music and sports, feel free to wear your favorite Disney gear, a baseball cap, team jerseys, band/label swag or accessories that remind you of him and his joyful spirit.

At the same time, we understand everyone has their own way of showing respect. If you’d rather wear traditional celebration-of-life clothing, please know that’s welcome, too. The most important thing is being together and celebrating Chris in a way that feels true to you.

In lieu of flowers, we warmly invite you to bring a card with a special memory or a note about Chris—whether a funny story, a heartfelt message, or a meaningful moment you shared. These memories will be treasured by the family and serve as a lasting reminder of the love and joy Chris brought into our lives.

For anyone who plans to attend the Nashville service in person, we invite you to visit with our family immediately following the service in the lobby at Church of the City.

With love and gratitude,
